Bottoms Up - Rum on the Rocks Practicality 75/25
I store mixed dyes in mason jars and when the jar is empty I flip it over onto a double sided sock blank - hence the name Bottoms UP. All the Bottoms Up dye jars make circles in various colors that I use when dyeing yarn and it takes months to make one sock blank. The sock blank is unraveled after the dye is set and split into two 50 gram skeins and the result is two 50 gram skeins perfect for a matching pair of socks. Because sock blanks are a knit fabric, the resulting yarn is kinked - I soak it again and hang it to make it less kinky and easier to knit with. Each sock blank is unique and can't be duplicated.
